Our Story
JG Contemporary is an independent art gallery dedicated to contemporary art and public art projects.
Our journey began in 2010 in North Acton as West London Art Factory a screen printing workshop and artists studio spaces. Through pop-up showcases across London, we built a reputation for supporting emerging and established artists. In 2017, JG Contemporary launched as an online gallery, leading to the opening of our physical space in Poet’s Corner, Acton in 2019. The gallery space in Acton was closed in the summer of 2025.
Our gallery represents multidisciplinary artists, with roots in pop, street, and urban art, while embracing a diverse range of artistic expressions. We host exhibitions featuring contemporary artists working across various mediums, offering a space where creativity can thrive.
Beyond the gallery, we are committed to public art and community engagement. From murals by internationally renowned street artist Fin DAC to Matt Small’s portrait of Jamal Edwards MBE, crafted entirely from recycled materials, we continue to champion impactful art in public spaces.
At JG Contemporary, every exhibition and project is an opportunity to explore new perspectives and celebrate artistic expression. Whether through gallery shows, public murals, or collaborations, we strive to make art accessible, engaging, and part of the community.
